Thrill-Seekers Should Head Over to Shanghai’s 1115-foot-high Fenceless Glass Skywalk

A terrifying new skywalk opened last week on the 88th floor of the Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai.

It is the highest fenceless walkway in the world, at 340 meters, or 1115 feet above the ground. The 4-foot-wide walkways are made of transparent glass and span nearly 200 feet in length. A maximum of 15 people (including two workers) are permitted on the walkway as a safety precaution.

The only thing preventing visitors from plunging to their imminent deaths are brightly colored harnesses attached to a rail on the building.

If you can get past the idea of precariously dangling off the edge over 1000 feet above ground, the skywalk offers spectacular views of the sprawling high-rise towers of Shanghai.

Would you dare walk on this ledge?
