Despite reports on Matt Damon’s appearance on the popular South Korean MBC variety show, INFINITE CHALLENGE, it has been confirmed that he will not be guest starring, much to the disappointment of fans.
According to Soompi, a source stated that “[Matt Damon] is currently in talks for a different program, but nothing has been confirmed.” An MBC rep confirmed that it would be difficult to get an appearance from Matt Damon on the show.
INFINITE CHALLENGE is regarded as South Korean’s “first real variety show.” Since airing in 2005, the show has consistently earned top ratings and featured many celebrity guests. The largely unscripted program is hosted by top comedians and follows a challenge-based reality television format.
Earlier this year, Jack Black appeared on INFINITE CHALLENGE while he was promoting KUNG FU PANDA, and some of his challenges included the stuffing his face with marshmallows in the “Marshmallow Challenge,” an intense “Pillow Fight” to try and knock opponents off balance, and guessing K-pops songs.
Matt Damon will be in Korea on July 8 to promote upcoming JASON BOURNE movie, which will be hitting US theaters on July 29.
