Jojo no Kimyo na Boken aka JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE will be coming to life in a live-action film adaptation.
Major studios Warner Bros. and Toho will be co-producing the live-action feature and have brought on board famed film maker, Takashi Miike. The main cast has also already been announced.
JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE is the long-running manga series by Hirohiki Araki first launched in 1987 and has sold over 90 million copies in print, making it one of the best-selling manga series in history. The manga has branched into a large franchise that includes anime, novelizations, video games, action figures, and even snacks.
The film will be based on the fourth arc of the manga storyline, ‘DIAMOND IS UNBREAKABLE,’ and according to Variety, “will feature the Joestar family, a clan whose members possess various powers and skills they use to defeat supernatural foes.” The hero, Josuke Higashikata, will be played by Kento Yamazaki.
