For any Taiwanese local, chicken feet, pig’s blood, and stinky tofu are simply a delicious part of the everyday, street markets. For 12-year-old actor Hudson Yang of ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat? Not so much.
But there’s no denying that the child star is a good sport. Yang, who plays chef Eddie Huang in the hit tv series stepped in line with his character as he accompanied Janet Hsieh, the host of travel show Fun Taiwan, to try out some of the local Taiwanese delicacies. Yang was in Taiwan for the filming of Season 3 of Fresh Off the Boat, which brings the family to Huang’s native country for the premiere.
The pair went to the Shilin Night Market, one of Taiwan’s most famous, where Yang got to try chicken feet, pig’s blood pudding, and fermented tofu. He also got to try out a more conventionally appetizing ice cream dessert.
