Some of Korea’s biggest heartthrobs will take a deathly trip in 2016
This united federation of hunkiness will be commandeered by director Kim Yong-hwa, whose past works include box office smash 200 POUNDS BEAUTY and Korean skiing drama TAKE OFF. Per Korea Film‘s piece, the film
“features Angels of Death escorting the deceased to the afterlife where they must endure seven trials over the course of 49 days. Gang-rim, the leader of these Grim Reapers, harbors a soft spot for humans which are put to the test when he meets the freshly departed Ja-hong.”
Gang-rim, the leader of the angels, will be played by Ha Jung-woo. The actor just came off a banner 2015 that saw him star in smash hit ASSASSINATION, with a role in Park Chan-wook‘s highly anticipated HANDMAID on the horizon this year. Opposite Ha will be Cha Tae-hyun, as the recently deceased protagonist Ja-hong.
Additionally, the article indicates WITH GOD will adapt an unusual rollout strategy: the film will be split into two parts, for separate releases. Too much studliness for one movie to handle? Either way, one can bet WITH GOD will be giving heartthrob lovers out there a little slice of heaven come 2017, sending the Korean box office in a country-wide swoon.
