It feels like everything is getting a reboot these days, and your childhood classic is no difference. Blue’s Clues, the charming mystery-solving cartoon starring animated dog Blue and her whimsical owner is slated to return this November.
While the new series features a new leading man, Broadway veteran Joshua de la Cruz, you can expect all your beloved iconic characters to return: Tickety Tock, Shovel and Pail, Slippery Soap, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Cinammon, and Paprika. Rosie-hued fan favorite Magenta also makes an appearance in the trailer along with set pieces like the Mailbox and Thinking Chair.
The original host of the show, Steve Burns, who stepped down when it became clear he would lose his hair, gave Josh his blessing. Steve said in an official press statement: “I had the great honor of being a part of the search for the new host, and I give Josh two thumbs up! He can definitely fill my shoes, and the rugby shirt!”
Josh has previously understudied for the title role in the Broadway production of Aladdin, so his singing, dancing, and heightened acting skills are polished and ready.
Throughout the web, Asian netizens have excitedly and emotionally responded to the representation Josh brings.

The conspicuous absence of Periwinkle the Cat left some fans shook, however.
The new Blues Clues show looks great and all, but the lack of Periwinkle is incredibly disturbing. pic.twitter.com/nvYHbukA9c

Other criticisms have been aimed at the creation of a reboot at all as well as the new CGI Blue as opposed to drawn animation. And a bunch of grown-up whiners seemed fixated on the show not having Steve anymore, a change that actually occurred partway through the show’s original run.
Some users have devoted their time to helping complainers keep their opinions in context.
Y’all complaining about the new Blues Clues like you’re still the target audience. Bitch, you are 27.

Overall, people seem very hyped about the show, it’s faithfulness to the original, and the diversity and talent of Josh.
