League Of Legends Turned Their Characters Into A K-Pop Girl Group And It’s Honestly Amazing [Music Video]

K-Pop and E-Sports? Two worlds with enthusiastic superfans that you wouldn’t immediately think to marry. League of Legends did just that this week, however. An official LOL K-Pop video launched with popular female champions Ahri, Evelynn, Kai’Sa,and Akali brought together in an unstoppable girl group called K/DA.

League of Legends players are estimated to number close to 80 million worldwide, but fans of both the game and K-Pop in general found themselves spellbound by the video of the new hit single “Pop/Stars.” In less than a week, it has already accumulated over 23 million views and 964,000 Likes on video-sharing site YouTube.

The various heroines sing and dance over a variety of both futuristic-looking and fantasy locales. One of the most beloved parts of the video occurs when Akali raps and Eve rapidly shifts between her human and demon forms as the camera switches back and forth from the real world and the shroud.

Of course, no K-Pop video would be possible without star power and it isn’t the characters’ voice actresses who are singing, but actual K-Pop stars.

Magical fox girl Ahri and demon seductress Evelynn act as the group’s lead singers while Void-hunting Kai’Sa performs as the group’s central dancer, and masked assassin Akali is the squad rapper. Their real life counterparts are Miyeon of real-world K-pop group (G)I-dle, American singers Madison Beer and Jaira Burns, and Soyeon of (G)I-dle respectively.

And anyone who wants to play as a K-Pop idol can do so right now by buying special skins of the characters in-game. Players can save up ingame money for awhile or shell out real world cash to purchase the special costumed variants, and something tells me that a lot of fans won’t be waiting for their premium content.

“Pop/Stars” even got a live performance at this year’s League of Legends World Championships with each vocalist actually dancing as their characters with the help of augmented reality.

Fans of the two realms who thought they never had anything in common are forging new bonds together. K-Pop may be the most powerful secret technique of all across the realms!
