If you were ogling at SHINee’s Taemin singing “Despacito”, wait until you see this.
Kpop OGs Super Junior have made a comeback with their 8th repackage album, REPLAY. Their title track, “Lo Siento” is (obviously) a Latin-inspired track – but not in the so tasteless of ways I’m sure some of us (*raises hand*) were afraid of happening.
Dominican-American singer Leslie Grace has ~graced~ the song with her Spanish vocals, not only singing for nearly half of the song, but also playing a starring role in the music video AND choreography. She’s been nominated for several Latin Billboard and Grammy awards, and won Tropical Female Artist at the Lo Nuestro Awards.
“Lo Siento” was produced by Latin duo Play-N-Skillz – you might know them for their previously produced tracks, like “Ridin’ (Dirty)” by Chamillionaire, or Lil Wayne’s “Got Money”, to name a couple. Or, if you’re too young, you might just know them as the dudes that drop the beat in Super Junior’s music video towards the end.
This collaboration marks the boys’ first collaboration with a foreign artist, and as far as I’m concerned, the first title track in K-pop to feature a Spanish-speaking artist. Check out the steamy music video for the Latin-Korean track below:
