A Shanghai mall has created a safe space for all those poor, suffering husbands who are dragged to shop by their nagging wives! It’s called the ‘Husband Nursery’ and it’s designed perfectly so that a dude can skip out spending the afternoon with the woman he willingly committed to for the rest of his life.
This ‘Nursery’ can be found on the third floor of the Vanke Mall in Qibao, and includes magazines, newspapers, a TV a massage chair, and, of course, Wi-Fi for the optimum relaxtation experience.
Because all girls love to shop and all boys would rather be watching sports (I have to assume that’s what’s playing on the TV, I’m 90% sure all men only watch ESPN and The Golf Channel).
I’m really not against the idea of having such a space for shoppers, but is the ‘Husband Nursery’ title absolutely necessary? It plays right into sexist stereotypes: Wives loves to shop why the husband just tolerates her! Men are babies who need to have the women in their life take care of basic human tasks for them, like cooking and cleaning, so they need a nursery! Also, don’t forget men can’t possibly actually enjoy shopping themselves!
Can’t we just call it a lounge? No?
